The Ministry of Small and Medium Venture Businesses has announced that it is recruiting entrepreneurs to participate in the 2024 Career-Interrupted Women's Entrepreneurship Program.
This Career-Interrupted Women's Entrepreneurship Program has been adjusted from the previous 'Women's Venture Startup Care Program' to focus on women who have had career interruptions. This is an expansion of the career-interrupted women's support project that focused on re-employment into the entrepreneurship field.
The biggest feature of this program is that it connects successful senior women entrepreneurs who have the most similar industries and careers to the startup items of the selected women's businesses. This is a different approach from the previous women's entrepreneurship support projects that focused on education and consulting.
From this year, it plans to focus on nurturing the semiconductor, bio, and lifestyle industries among technology-based industries. For the selected businesses, a comprehensive support system including tailored education and mentoring, business funds, and collaboration networks will be provided for about seven months.
Applications are possible from the 6th until 5 pm on March 5, and applications are made on the website of the Korea Women's Venture Association, which is the organizer. Detailed information related to applications can be inquired by phone.
The Minister of SMEs and Startups, Oh Young-ju said, "We will increase the success myths of female CEOs such as Coupang, the first unicorn in Korea, and 8percent, which developed investment-linked financial products and attracted 45.3 billion from Silicon Valley investors." She said, "We will also expand additional linked support such as dedicated guarantees and funds for women's businesses selected this time and further promote women's entrepreneurship."
Through this project that supports women's entrepreneurial enthusiasm, we expect a new success myth of female CEOs to be born. We hope that many career-interrupted women who dream of starting a business will participate.
